Tilesia baccata is a shrub growing along edges in moist and dry lowland tropical forests, savannas, and thickets. Its extensive range encompasses Central America, the Greater and Lesser Antilles, Trinidad and Tobago, and South America from Colombia and Venezuela to Paraguay and Argentina.
